Compass Boats incorporate the latest constructing methods and keep up to date with the latest boat building regulations. We use all brand name CE certified materials and gel-coats to ensure consistency in the quality of our products. Quality control is performed throughout the whole manufacturing procedure. Process starts by polishing and waxing the molds in order to have a high shine flawless finish. Then we paint with high quality gel-coat and the molds are left to cure for 8 to 12 hours. Next is lamination, which is always done by hand and glass is laid in a certain pattern in order to maximize strength in specified areas of the hull and inside liner. We then prepare all the cured parts making all the necessary cutouts and mounting cleats, bow and stern eyes, thru-hulls etc. The ‘S4” liner is then glued to the hull with a special bonding mixture and in the same time cabin liners, ice boxes and other parts are glued to the deck with the same procedure. The Second Skin Stringer System “S4” is unique in small boats. It minimizes the use of wood, gives superior strength to the hull and provides shiny, easy to clean, gel-coat surfaces inside cabinets. The whole inside liner is filled before the bond to the hull with a certain quantity of closed cell waterproof foam in order to achieve the predefined positive buoyancy needed for every type of boat. Notice that all “S4” liners are unique for each model and specially designed to drain water. Hull and deck are glued and riveted together to ensure a strong and watertight bond. Marine grade aluminum rail is riveted also and high strength rub rail is placed to protect the hull. All other accessories are then mounted and the boats are ready for the next cleaning and polishing process. UV protective wax is applied and the boats are checked in every detail through a specified multi-point check list.
